Can I choose who does the work on my home if I have an insurance claim?

Yes you can choose any contractor you like to perform emergency or restoration services. It’s your home and your choice.

What is the cycle of an insurance claim?

A call comes into RESTORx 24 HR office line from an insurance company, property manager, or homeowner. Information is collected to assess damages and whether we need to dispatch emergency service technicians. Technicians will attend emergency calls within 2 hours and an estimator will assess damages within 24 hours to prepare and estimate for repairs. Once estimate has been reviewed and approved by homeowner, insurance adjuster or property manager, RESTORx will provide a schedule for repairs and address any changes to the estimate. The project manager will coordinate specifics relating to the repairs and will be available to the customer to address and changes or considerations. Work will be reviewed on completion with the customer and the Project Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.

What is a deductible and where does it apply?

If you are making an insurance claim, your insurance company will require you to pay the deductible portion of your policy directly to RESTORx and the Insurance company will typically pay the remaining portion of the approved estimate. Often the deductible portion of your claim can be applied to any contents that are damaged so do not throw anything out before your adjuster sees it. RESTORx typically lists and photographs all damaged contents during emergency services. This list will be available to the property owner and the insurance company.

How do I know I am covered and how much coverage do I have?

Your policy will have a list of covered perils i.e. fire, water, sewer back- up, wind etc… Exclusions are also named on your policy as well as the deductible applicable to each claim made. The maximum amount of coverage available may also be listed on the policy and this dollar value should cover the complete rebuild cost of your home. A separate limit for contents will also be listed on the policy. Sewer back up claims often have limited ocoverage amounts and this will be documented on your policy (SBU coverage amounts include, cleanup, contents and rebuild).
